As a special feature, our practice also uses the biomedical PRF technique (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) alongside operations. It uses the growth factors from your own blood to support the healing of bone and soft tissue – entirely without additives or foreign material.
How PRF Works
- Immediately before the procedure, we take a small blood sample from you – comparable to a blood draw at your GP's.
- The blood is processed in a special centrifuge. This separates out a fibrin clot that is rich in platelets and growth factors.
- We apply this PRF directly into the wound as a membrane, as a gel, or – mixed with bone substitute material – as “sticky bone”.
The whole procedure takes only a few minutes and takes place at the same appointment.
Where we use PRF
- Implant placements, including ceramic implants
- Bone Augmentation and Sinus Lift
- Tooth and wisdom tooth extractions (protecting the empty socket)
- Apicoectomies and Periodontal Surgery
- Covering Gum Recession
What patients gain from this
PRF has been used in implantology and oral surgery for many years. The aim is calmer wound healing: less swelling and fewer after-effects, more stable tissue, and a good foundation for implants to integrate. As with any healing process, the outcome depends on your individual situation – we discuss with you in advance what can realistically be expected.
